A Competition your STEM class to dream bigger by letting them experience the next generation of learning tools – a programmable drone with computer vision and artificial intelligence (Tello), and an expandable, easy-to-program robot (mBot Ranger and Codey Rocky). These VCE curriculum-mapped Competitions are carefully planned to unleash a student’s creativity and enhance their STEM knowledge.

Tello EDU is an impressive and programmable drone, perfect for education combined with fun. You can easily learn programming languages such as Scratch, Python, and Swift. The Tello EDU comes with advanced commands and increased data interfaces. Complete with DJI’s flight control technology, Tello EDU also supports Electronic Image Stabilization. Write a code to command multiple Tello EDUs to fly in a swarm and develop amazing AI functions. Programming has never been this fun with Tello EDU! This Competition will offer you an experience of next generation Artificial Intelligent (AI) Drone.

MakeBlock is an expandable modular robotics system that offers an eco-system of the tools that schools are using to cater to K-12 students. With support for multiple programming languages like Scratch 2.0 & 3.0, Python and Arduino, the MakeBlock is most popular in K-12 schools. The Competitions for primary school utilizes Codey Rocky that includes AI and Internet of Things (IoT), while the tasks for secondary school involves mBot Ranger showcasing 3-in-1 configuration with build-in modules like, light, sound & temperature sensor, multi-colour LEDs, gyroscope and many more.

  • Drone Competition (Primary School Level) – The winning  school will receive two DJI Tello EDU Drones plus an hour of professional training for teacher at their school (valued over $650)
  • Drone Competition (Secondary School Level) – The winning school  will receive two DJI Tello EDU Drones plus an hour of professional training for teacher at their school (valued over $650)
  • Robot Competition (Primary School Level) – The winning  school will receive two Codey Rocky robots plus an hour professional training for teacher at their school (valued over $500)
  • Robot Competition (Secondary School Level) – The winning school will receive two mBot ranger robots plus an hour of professional training for teacher at their school (valued over $700)

A winning team for each competition will be announced at the conclusion of the event. To register your student’s participation in these competition’s please sign up above form. Alternatively, to register your students on the day please visit the EE Group expo stand before 10:30 am on Thursday 14 March-Friday 15 March in the indoor Innovation & Technology Expo

Terms and Conditions
1. This competition is open to all school students in Australia. You must register to an appropriate skill level competition either primary or secondary school. School representative must do the registration.
2. Each team from the school can have either one or two students in a group. Each school can have a maximum of two teams per competition that is two teams in the robot competition and two teams in the drone competition.
3. The number of the team participation are limited, and they will be served as first come first served bases.
4. The competition registration online starts from 1st of February 2019 to 13th of March 2019 till 23:59:59 pm (AEST). The on the spot registration will be available at the EE group stand or competition area till 10:30 am (AEST) on the day of the event. That is the 14th and 15th of March 2019.
5. In case of any dispute/ambiguity, the decision by the judges will be final.
6. The competition challenge rules given in the documents are for the reference, the challenge layout and rules on the day of the competition will be final. Each team will be given details of the competition and marks on the day.
7. The winning prize cannot be exchanged for cash or any alternative.
8. The delivery date of the prizes is subject to availability.
9. The winner of the competition will be announced on the day at the competition area. It will also be published on the website.
10. The winner of the competition needs to claim prize before 30th June 2019 23:59:59 pm (AEST)
11. By registering you agree to opt-in for the competition related and future new product and marketing related communication. You can always opt-out by replying to email or unsubscribing at any time
12. As a school representative, your consent to take photographs of participants that may be used for the marketing and future competitions. Please contact competition representative if you do not wish to take photographs of any participant.
